Game Notes
Artillery on both sides have finally started to inflict casualties

All three Russian divisions are now in position and advance
The cavalry have moved within charge range of the French infantry

The two forward French divisions will have to hold until nightfall at odds of two to one

Much will depend on who moves first next move.
The Russian infantry and cavalry are all within canister range of the French guns
If the French can fire first there is a good chance that they will halt the Russians
If the Russians move first the cavalry can charge the French in line

The problem with short battle days is that the attacker often has to launch his attack before he has had a chance to soften the enemy with artillery fire.

If the French can hold until nightfall they will be able to deploy their reserve during the night.
