Battle of Bad Kosen– Set Up

Campaign Background
Marshal Ney has orders to hold the town of Bad Kosen.   He has deployed 6th division to hold the town, 5th division to hold the river bend between the two bridges and 15th division to move south of the river and hold the southern end of the bridge.

General Langeron has orders to capture Bad Kosen.   He had already received light casualties by bringing his corps close to the east bank of the river.   He now orders his three divisions to march south along the eastern bank of the river and attack the exposed 15th division.

The river Saale runs north to south and curves to the west
3rd French corps is on the left, 15th division south of the river

Special Rules
The battle starts at 1200 and will last for 8 hours/moves
This battle is fought at the same time as both Domburg and Possneck.
Domburg is being fought immediately south of this battle
No movement south of the battle area is allowed.


Only corps commanders are allowed to change division orders
The only exception is that divisional commanders can change their orders to Halt if they are unable to carry out their corps commander orders.

The river can only be crossed by the road bridges, unless there is a hidden ford.
It will take one regiment of infantry or cavalry four game moves (four hours) to recce one square to confirm if there is a ford.
